What you can get into a 10-yard
Picture three full pickup beds. That's a bathroom down to the studs, carpet out of two bedrooms, a small deck, or a garage you've been meaning to deal with for a few years.
Most people who book a 10 are working on one room. The other half are moving something heavy. Broken concrete, fill dirt and brick weigh so much that a bigger container would hit its weight limit half empty, so we put those loads in a 10 and let you fill it.

If you land between a 10 and a 15, take the 15. The exception is concrete and dirt, where the 10 is the right call.
The overweight box
The usual 10-yard problem has nothing to do with space. Someone orders a 20 for a patio tear-out, fills it with concrete, and the truck can't legally lift it. Now half of it has to come back out by hand.
It goes the other way too. A 10 packed with a whole kitchen needs a second trip, and a second trip costs more than a bigger box would have. Tell us what's going in and we'll send the size that gets it gone in one haul.
